The Dt's- Hard Fixed (2004)

Play It Loud!!! Espero que os guste.

The Manikins "Epileptic"

The Psychomen, The Blowchunks, etc., etc.,

I can`t live without hearing this songs 10 times a day, ever since the band sent me a CDR with the demo songs some months ago. All songs will burn themselves immediately right into your brain like they did into mine when I first pushed the PLAY button. Now I`m an Epileptic, but call me a happy spastic, because I was allowed to release this masterpiece of Garage Punk, with a trashy pop flavor to it, on wax!!! Sink down the needle of your record player and you'll get 11 shaky originals and 1 great cover of RADIO BIRDMAN's "Monday Morning Gunk". This super catchy stuff rawks like our heros TEENGENERATE/DEVIL DOGS/SONICS. And this LP will find its way into the New Testament of the Garagepunk-Bible. These guys make the HIVES look like a combo of five-year-old girls.......believe me!!!

The Manikins son:
Joakim Forsberg: Voces / Guitarra
Tommie Gustafsson: Batería
Kalle Jansson: Guitarra / 2ª voz y coros
Max Thyrén: Bass

The Makers (REPOST)

Just when you thought you knew The Makers...This is their world through cat eyes, a rock 'n roll resurrection beyond all expectation. The Makers have been to the crossroads and returned with 13 shining jewels reminiscent of The Velvet Underground, Stax records, Richard Hell and The Kinks, yet undeniably, Makers. Estrus Records proudly presents The Makers' fifth full-length LP/CD "Psychopathia Sexualis". Recorded by Jack Endino and Mike Maker, "Psychopathia Sexualis" is a titillating torture-tonic of sex-mad soul music, betrayal, and degenerate guitar-lust. This is music for abused children and tormented adults, the wild and the sexually damaged. The world doesn't want you, so invite The Makers into your heart and let them guide you on a greater path. This is your last chance to live again, to rise above the masses, to stand up, and begin again! All songs written and performed by The Makers.
A old great garage punk band of our days, surely The Makers have influenced to many garage bands, this fellas really rockin'. One of the many things that i like The Makers is his spontaneity, and the ingeniuos rhythms, the guitar in the makers is the best, any guitarrist, when listen them, surely thinks: How i didn't occurred me before? This sound is magnificent, the fuzzes & raw distortions, add a raw & rhythm voice, what we have?: We have The Makers. This album is the best, if you don't have listen it, do it now.

The Gorgons "Number one"

The Fireballs of Freedom "New Professionals"

YES!!! Finally another CD of dirty, gritty, ballsy rawk n' roll worthy of the momentum in the scene created by the likes of SPEEDEALER, ZEKE, and THE SUPERSUCKERS. This isn't some tired and half hearted attempt to combine punk with classic hard rock like most bands of this ilk, instead this is kick-out-the-jams-and-burn-the-house-down rock fury! Delivered with the passion of Ted Nugent on a big game hunt and the reckless abandon of a drunk driver in the Indianapolis 500. FIREBALLS OF FREEDOM have distanced themselves from the pack instantly. Sometimes the sound like MC5 reincarnated and other times they sound like they have been smoking NAZARETH albums in their crack pipe, but at no time do they lose their edge... and edge that is ragged, rusty and blood stained. Listening to this CD is like having Jack Nicholson lean into your face and scream, "You say you want punk rock? YOU CAN'T HANDLE PUNK ROCK!" and then smack you upside the head. On a scale of one to damn, this is a hell, yeah!

The Makers "All Night Riot"

The Makers, Tear Your World Apart, Hunger, Hip-Notic/Shout On!!, etc.)

John Trashe

Those bad seeds gone badder have returned with their toughest offering yet, the All Night Riot!! album 16 trashy slices of lo-fidelity 'rumble rock' guaranteed to shimmy-shake the pants right offa you! Direct from Spokane, Washington State's infamous Felony Flats, the impeccably dressed lads of ill-repute have flung down the gauntlet to music mavens everywhere. All Night Riot!''s senses-shattering rhythm n' beat assault will render even the most jaded hipster speechless. Dumb ass chuckleheaded posers will eat dust and flee to their parents basements in shame. If you thought these cat's last full-length bowl o' slop ,'Howl', was da shit, prepare yerself for the wildest, nastiest, horniest stomp n' shuffle this side of The Sonics....welcome to hell, kiddies, you have been duly warned!

The Immortal Lee County Killers II "Love is a Charm of Powerful Trouble"

A Rock-N-Roll duo from Lee County, Alabama, The Immortal Lee County Killers II, followed and paid respects to originators such as John Lee Hooker, Hound Dog Taylor, Jerry Lee Lewis, Skip James, Blue Cheer, MC5, and the Gun Club until the two created a new hypothesis—a new kind of blues, a new kind of punk rock. Ex-Black Panther and revolutionary activist, Eldridge Cleaver described blues as music for emotional and spiritual escape, an elixir for pain, which lacked a voice for action and change. The Immortal Lee County Killers II have given blues that voice. Now the two have broken from the Mississippi Delta blues and Rock-N-Roll tradition. Drummer J.R.R. Token promises, “....when the dust has settled and after all the smoke has cleared, you’ll know who the Killers are.” Fuck Punk Rock. Fuck Blues. Fuck Rock N Roll. Try something new. Listen to ILCKII’s “Love is A Charm Of Powerful Trouble”, the follow up release to the critically acclaimed “The Essential Fucked Up Blues.” Because The Immortal Lee County Killers II love you.

The Immortal Lee County Killers "The Essential Fucked Up Blues"

From Lee County, Alabama comes a brand new and damned real punk blues record with hidden charms; THE ESSENTIAL FUCKED UP BLUES, by The Immortal Lee County Killers (ILCK). Two important ideological facts, the band claims kin to the Revolution's Culpeper Minute Men and are avid NASCAR fans. The duo, Chet "the Cheetah" Weise and The Boss Sherrard, cut their teeth on the southern punk rock biscuit. The Cheetah founded the Quadrajets, and The Boss played in Mobile's Sphamm. Both bands established themselves in the region's lore. After spending many moons rehearsin', catfishin', studying books, the ILCK present their first ESTRUS full length. From the opening of "Let's Get Killed" to the nine minute rework of Muddy Waters' "Rollin' Stone", it's evident the cross-eyed Hell-possums found the two boys trail; and the ILCK made their desperate stand.

Liberty or Death! No Restrictor Plates! The ILCK challenge established institutions. Stripped to bare guitar, two drums, and the fringe of delta blues, The Killers' offer an uncompromised statement. The duo recorded the mess in a small condemned shack with an 8-track and a six-pack. NO "INDUSTRY" TRESPASSERS OF TRANSGRESSORS ALLOWED. The label encouraged it. It shouldn't be any other way. Transgressors and trespassers turned blues into an institution of receding-hair-line-with pony-tail-attached gruel. ILCK and Estrus turn it into the beverage of bootleggers and Baptists--white lightning; pure grain alcohol aged in a soul-still mixed with bitterness. With more tube amplifiers (three of em) than members, the duo shakes the foundations of punk rock holes, houses, and juke joints. The music evokes the gods, Hound Dog Taylor, Jerry Lee Lewis (the original killer, and the band's namesake), Blue Cheer, the MC5, and the improvisation of fellow Alabamian spaceman Sun Ra. Can you imagine fire in zero gravity? Just ask the New Bomb Turks, Hellacopters, Nomads, Man or Astroman?, these bands have witnessed the duo's distorto fueled departure and re-entry into and out of THE ESSENTIAL FUCKED UP BLUES.

As true sons of liberty, the ILCK acknowledge their ideological and musical heritage. As true freedom fighters, the Immortal Lee County Killers bring a new and evolving sound. Institutional change is incremental. Here's one more small step for mankind. -Dr. David Evian

The Fatal Flying Guilloteens "The Now Hustler Or New Diaboliks" (REPOST)

Four Boys, with a record release by Estrus... Danger so much danger. Produced by Tim Kerr in Austin, Texas: "The Now Hustle for New Diaboliks" is for the same FATAL FLYING GUILLOTEENS, is them fifth effort for destroy the music.Like The Nation of Ulysses (now The Make Up), The Fatal Flying Guilloteens proposed thirteen points of destruction USA. It is about raw, dirty & wild rock& roll. They try to claim the spontaneity of rock & roll, blues and punk music, as the true and unique reason to be of these rhythms.Like The Mooney Suzuki or The Inmortal Lee County Killers, FATAL FLYING GUILLOTEENS are in the good way of rawk & roll.By Pablo Vinuesa (bad translation was made by Johnny Graveyard jajajaja)Cuatro chicos, con un disco editado en el salvaje sello Estrus... Peligro, mucho peligro.

The Sadies- In Concert Vol.1 (2006)

Review by Mark Deming:

" Over the course of five studio albums under their own name and a hatful of sessions with other acts (ranging from alt-country songbird Neko Case to R&B wildman Andre Ethier), the Sadies have firmly established themselves as some of the finest pickers on the North American continent. Dallas Good and Travis Good's guitars conjure up a twangy netherworld hovering somewhere between California surf and Nashville twang along the broad plains of the Canadian prairies, and Mike Belitsky and Sean Dean are a superbly malleable rhythm section, always giving the songs just what they need without getting in the way. What isn't as widely appreciated is how great a live band the Sadies can be, but this two-disc set recorded during a two-day stand at Lee's Palace in Toronto proves that whatever these guys can do in the studio, they can do just as well (if not better) in front of a cheering crowd. Like many of their studio discs, In Concert, Vol. 1 features an abundant helping of guest stars, ranging from the Good Brothers (the country act led by Dallas and Travis' parents), former Band keyboardist Garth Hudson and members of Blue Rodeo to Jon Spencer, Jon Langford of the Mekons and the Waco Brothers, Gary Louris of the Jayhawks, and frequent collaborators Neko Case and Kelly Hogan. Given the talent on-stage, it says a lot that the Sadies not only don't drown in the wake of their "special guests," but sound fiery and fully in control for more than 110 minutes, and they can leap from the country gospel of "Higher Power" and the honky tonk fire of "1,000,002 Songs" to the blues-punk blast of "Back Off" (with Jon Spencer adding his trademark spiel) and the flinty roar of "Memphis, Egypt" (as Jon Langford briefly turns the Sadies into the Mekons) and land firmly on their feet every time. Also, while there's a cool assurance to the Sadies' studio work, here the band isn't afraid to turn it up and draw sweat, and there's a level of excitement in these sessions that will please fans and surprise the doubters. Steve Albini, Ken Friesen, and Don Pyle get the whole shebang on tape with high fidelity without sacrificing the energy of the musicians or the audience in the process. If the title In Concert, Vol. 1 is meant to suggest the Sadies have another album like this in the works, let's hope it hits the streets soon if it approaches this level of excellence: this truly captures a great band at the top of their form. "

The Trashwomen "The Trashwomen V/S Deep Space"

I found this gem in a good blog enjoy!!!!

Larry Bright- Shake That Thing! (1997)

Review by Thomas Schulte

" Del-Fi gives listeners, on one CD, sides from nearly half of Larry Bright's entire discography of singles. Five other non-released tracks are included. The sum is proof that voodoo-loving Bright was a talented and dynamic guitarist and vocalist. It would be a shame to see him forgotten in this era of CD revisitations. Listening to this collection, it is no surprise that Bright first charted at number one on the black music chart in 1960. The Texan-born musician soaked up the "chitlin circuit" sounds of the time and let their power shape his own style. Listen to him work through "Bacon Fat," "Maybelline," and "New Orleans." Apparently, one of the many strikes against this hard-drinking, superstitious performer was his own lack of confidence in covering songs. Nothing but surety and competence comes across on these tracks, though. His inspirations are apparent in his original material, too. Listen to "When I Did the Mashed Potatoes With You"; it is all about the Drifters' "Save the Last Dance for Me." Bright caught the shining sparks from the magic sounds of his day, and his music still works wonders. The effect was immediate. Many tracks are jumping with sax. This sounds like Wrecking Crew great Plas Johnson. The entire Bright story is told in Del-Fi's ten-page booklet. While his history is in the text, the compiled tracks are an exciting slice through the beginnings of rock & roll. His monkey paw may never have brought him wide fame and fortune, but his rockers are more than most guitar hands can conjure. "

The Tumbitas "The Second Coming"

The Cramps, The Sonics, Misfits, Ventures,...

Man Or Astroman? Made From Technetium

Cutting away some of their kitsch tendencies, Man or Astro-man? turned in a tough, muscular ninth album with Made From Technetium. The surf and spy influences have been de-emphasized in favor of a harder approach that still reverberates with pop-culture references. The difference results in a record that remains raw and invigorating, even when the group runs out of memorable riffs.

Thee Headcoats- Conundrum (1994)

" Review by Ned Raggett:

It's a Headcoats album — anyone expecting anything different or unusual who already knows their work might as well go home. But, as with most everything Billy Childish has a hand in, what Conundrum lacks in surprise it more than makes up for with energy. "Every Bit of Me" alone has enough rough-voiced and snarling garage punk power to shame wannabes half the age of Childish, and that's just the first track of 14. His witty, blunt, and passionate views on life, love, and lust are as strong as ever, while the band sounds particularly great, still embracing the rough-and-ready Toerag Studio sound but cutting the musical crap and kicking out jams like nobody's business. If you need proof, throw on the drumming from "(Bitten Off) More Than You Can Chew" or the steady, malevolent punch of "Again and Again" to show how the guitar/bass/drums lineup can still kill when handled just right. Childish's long-running Native American song theme, sparked by his own personal worship of the guitar god par excellence Link Wray, gets a nod with the smoking "Crazy Horse," which actually sounds like a Bo Diddley cut more than anything. Then there's "Watch Me Fall," where Childish's guitar is so trebly and overmodulated it almost sounds like an electric sitar without even trying! Sometimes, however, all it really takes is Childish's own fierce contempt for the idiots of the world — thus "He's So Popular With the Girls," which demolishes fame in musical and other spheres in a series of brilliantly intense verses that aim to rip heads off first and foremost. "We Ain't Gonna Be," meanwhile, makes romantic angst sound more wounded and raging than ever. "

This album originally was released as Josie (4005) in 1964. Includes liner notes by Robert J. Dalley. No, they're not the Tornadoes of "Telstar" fame, but that group's California counterparts. The U.S. Tornadoes mined the surf-rock vein in the early-'60s, with songs full of twangy, reverb-heavy guitars and almost tribal, tom-laden drum fills. Though they were capable of top-shelf, hard-hitting surf instrumentals ("Bustin' Surfboards," "The Tornado"), the band could also turn out a haunting vocal tune, as witnessed by their Zombies-ish version of "Summertime." While they were contemporaries of the Ventures, the Tornadoes' sound was a bit rawer, with a more sophomoric sense of humor (see the initially scandalous "Shootin' Beavers" and the don't-try-this-at-home instrumental "The Inebriated Surfer").

Kaiser George & The Hi-Risers- Transatlantic Dynamite! (2006)

La cuadratura del círculo se encuentra en “Little devil” o “I’d rather be with you”.

The Chesterfield Kings "Surfin Rampage" (1997)

1- The surf is in 2- Top down time 3- Anywhere the girls are 4- Farmer's daughter 5- Draggin' deuce 6- Moon relay 7- Shelby GT 356 8- Wax board and woodie 9- Black denim 10- R.P.M. 11- Ballad of Bonneville 12- Little honda 13- Beat' 65 14- Out our club 15- Summer means fun 16- No go showboat 17- Devil on wheels 18- Little beach Bunny 19- Double o surf 20- Hot rod high 21- D/gas chevy 22- My little bike 23- Custom machine 24- The swim 25- Echo 26- Surfin' 27- Surf side steady 28- Competition coupe 29- Coffin' nails 30- Land beyond the moon 31- Tell'em in surfin' 32- Surfin' rampage. The Reatards "Grown up fucked up"

From Memphis, TN, comes THE REATARDS, fronted by Jay Reatard, sounds alot like the "Killed By Death" comps. Hell Yeah! Jay's one of the few kids that understand that punk rock ain't punk if it's overproduced and predictable. And he doesn't even come close.

The Kill-A-Watts "Circuit Breaker Love"

English:
Already as trio and after three years of wait, since that 2002 their LP debut "Electrorock"went on sale, these natives of Wisconsin delight us (in their farewell as band) with a collection of punk songs, all they characterized by velocity.

To this innate quality to do fast songs, The Kill-A-Watts add an explosive ease in the management of their instruments that alone the practice provides and reflected in the complicated rhythm hanges that offer us in the majority of these songs. in only 22 minutes elapse 13 fast and furious songs, with great chorus and high energy.

Says good-bye a great band of punk rock (trash rawk and roll really) and does it with an outstanding disk.

April March "Paris in April"

Ingles:

I love April March!!!, this record is one of my favorites, she is a californian girl, (his real name is Elinor Blake). April March is characterized for having a sensual and hot voice, but at the same time, her voice is derisive, that seal prints it in its songs ¡a derisive innocence!!
The first part of the album contains ingles version song, and the second part integrates frech version songs, like very known "Chick habit" (Laiser Tomber les Fillespopularized by france gall in the sixties). April March she takes charge of giving you the opportunity of listening the song in two different languages. To me is better the french version!!!! is more sensual!

Here aren't The Sonics " 23 South American bands play The sonics"

She Devils, The Hates, Fuzzfaces etc.
ENGLISH:
Being sincere, i don't like tribute albums, generally the bands do equal versions or outright destroy the original version, with a bad result, but this album is distinguished of others, in first time, because in it there are great south american garage bands few known; in second time, the mostly of bands achieved great versions, all of them characterized by that sound of trash rock & roll that so much like me, is to say, ingenious, dirty and well vocalized versions.
Aggregated to the previous thing, subtracts to say, another aspect that differentiates this album of the remainder, is the great quantity of versions sung by girls, which gives a special sound if songs of The Sonics we are talkin'.
In this album you'll find south american bands very known, like Los Peyotes, Los Manganzoidez, Thee Butchers Orchestra, Elio and The Horribles and The Tormentos, also you'll find a good few known bands like She Devils, The Hates, Fuzz faces etc.

Laika & The Cosmonauts "Aburdistan"

Melodic instrumental rockular music with furious and atmospheric visual vibes. Handcrafted locally in Finland for universal audiences!Constantly influencing the instrumental evolution.

Very very Weird album, obviously Laika And The Cosmonauts is a rare surf band? what is your opinion?

The Quakes "Voice Of America"

The Quakes' second album - more neo-rockabilly than their first. This was recorded in Buffalo, NY.

The Quakes, they seem to be a great cocktail between the Stray Cats and rougher (faster) material, like that from the Guanabatz and Frantic Flintstones.
This album sets the precedent for the rest of the Quakes' albums, giving them their own distinctive sound. Paul Roman, the singer/guitarist, seems to have progressed in both his vocal and guitar abilities since the last record. There is less screaming and more singing overall, and the songs definitely benefit from this. Rob Peltier's bass playing is not to be overlooked, either. Together, these guys work really well, seeming to feed off of each other's energy.
Although there is not as much raw energy overall on Voice of America as on the first album, certain songs here really catch the spirit of the band. 'Stick to your guns', most definitely the highlight of the whole album, a call to arms for psychobillies to stay with their roots. Other high points of the album include kick ass versions of 'Paint it black' and 'All messed up' and an awesome song called 'Nuthin' goin' down'. Basically, this album rocks. Voice of America can hold its own among the best psychobilly albums out there. It has become something of a classic for most fans of psychobilly and neo-rockabilly." Texas Death
